On a Sunbeam is a beautiful graphic novel about young queer love and found family. I read it all over the course of a Sunday afternoon and loved it.
Klara and the Sun is a moving and super-readable novel that asks a lot of questions in engaging, unique ways. It was my first Ishiguro but won’t be my last!
Light from Uncommon Stars was such a delight! Funny and hopeful but not without substance, this book is a new favorite I’ll be recommending far and wide.
I’m really glad I read The Left Hand of Darkness. It wasn’t as accessible as I’d (naively) assumed it would be, but it was certainly thought-provoking and resonant.
The first three Lady Astronaut novels are fun to read with an imaginative premise, and they’re impressively packed with research. I had a good time reading them!
Even Greater Mistakes is a wide-reaching collection of stories that will have something for everyone. Anders is just so good at cutting to the heart of our humanity with bravery and compassion.
Noor is a quick but exciting, hard sci-fi novel that offers some really great commentary on ableism, privacy, and environmentalism. Not my favorite Okorafor, but a good one!
Network Effect was my favorite Murderbot story so far. I think the full-novel length gives it space to appeal to those who don’t always gravitate toward hard sci-fi.
Oh my gosh, I loved The Acutal Star so much. It’s so creative and smart and well-written. Every chapter was a puzzle. This is one to savor and enjoy!
I loved wrapping up the arc that the first four novellas followed; watching Murderbot find, leave, and find its people again was beautiful.
I loved Feral Creatures! It was just as funny and heartwarming and clever as Hollow Kingdom. Kira Jane Buxton is so witty and these books are exactly my kind of humor.
Another fun, fast-paced Murderbot novella in the bag! These audiobooks are the perfect snack to my weekends as I shop for groceries, clean my apartment, etc.
A Psalm for the Wild-Built is a beautiful, funny, hopeful novella full of heart and what it means to be human. I really, really loved it.
Artificial Condition was such a good sequel to All Systems Red! I’m hooked into Murderbot’s story (and life). Can’t wait to read the next one.
All the Birds in the Sky is a whimsical, super creative novel with some really lovable characters. I loved how it blended fantasy and sci-fi. A new favorite!
All Systems Red was a fun, fast-paced novella and a great start to the Murderbot series! I can’t wait for more Murderbot self-discovery and adventures.
