My Review

A Taste of Gold and Iron was my favorite fantasy novel of 2022, and I loved it so much that I consider picking it up for a reread at least once a week. So it was a given that I was going to buy and read Tadek and the Princess, a follow-up novella about the most prominent secondary character in the original book.

Y’all. I should have known that a book about the most (seemingly) flip character in the series would break my heart the hardest! All the tears for Tadek’s backstory and the immense grief he covers with his charm and flirtatiousness. But it was also quite funny, as you’d probably expect! I read it in just two sittings and was sorry to see it end.

I’m so glad Rowland decided to self-publish this little novella so the fans of ATOGAI could have it. It was so lovely to be back with these characters, even for a little while.
